A Trip to the Zoo

My parents from Fort Smith came down for a quick visit and we decided to go to the zoo. We tried to do this last time they were in town but it was raining. This time, the weather was perfect and Anna is now old enough to really enjoy it.
We rented one of the zoo wagons to carry her around in but since she preferred to either walk or pull the wagon herself, it was better served as something to haul our purses. But by the end of the day, she was ready to ride.
Her favorite animal was the "elfant"
We also rode the Carousel, which Anna was NOT a fan of. It surprised me and Kevin because she's such a little dare devil that we thought she'd love this, but she didn't. Luckily she had Grammy to hold on to.

Christmas threw up in our house!

We got a head start on Christmas decorating this year and started a week before Thanksgiving. (I got antsy!) This year was fun decorating because Anna was old enough to get involved and help. And she was a pro! She knew exactly what she was doing. Me, Kevin and Anna all decorated the family tree together and we had a good time doing it.
I stole a family tradition from Kevin's mom where each year I will get Anna a new Christmas ornament and hopefully try to relate it to something she's been in to that year. This year, I got her a Shrek and Donkey ornament because she LOVES Shrek. She watches it all the time so I thought it was fitting.
Like I said, Anna did a great job decorating. She only br4oke one ornament, which happens to be the one pictured below. She dropped it right after I took this picture:)
And here's our family tree.
And here's our other tree... the tree I won't let anyone touch or decorate! :)
I love Christmas!!!

22 Months

I just realized that I haven't done Anna's 22 month update. She's pretty much doing the same stuff. Her vocabulary has gotten bigger and she's starting to form sentences. It's so funny hearing her say words that she doesn't quite get right. Kevin and I are always entertained. I guess the biggest adventure in our house is getting ready to potty train. Several kids in Anna's class are potty training or trained so we've been introducing the potty to her at home. She hasn't made any "masterpieces" in the potty yet but we're practicing. Last night all she wanted to do was sit on the potty. It was kinda funny because she would even pretend to wipe! Who knows, maybe by the time she's 2, we can say bye bye to diapers.

Randoms

Kevin brought home some flowers for his girls the other night. Anna thought they were very pretty.
I put the flowers at her table so she could watch them while she colored on her etch-a-sketch.
I bought Anna some sunglasses and ever since, the girl doesn't want to take them off!
I'm not kidding... This was her eating dinner last night!

Baking A Cake

The moment I've been waiting for since I found out I was having a girl when I was pregnant has finally happened... cooking with my daughter! Anna and I baked a cake together for a Halloween potluck at my work. She and I had the best time! And when it was all said and done, she and her daddy sat down and licked the bowl.
She wasn't a fan of the mixer. She thought it was too loud.
And this was the outcome...
